CALCIUM BYPASS FAT

Rumen Protected Fat

WHY FEED FAT?

High yielding dairy cattle during early lactation are often in negative balance because of insufficient feed intake to meet energy requirements. In these conditions animals have to use their body reserves to support the milk production, often resulting in metabolic disorders and suboptimal milk yield. Example, it can severe weight loss, lead to ketosis, fatty liver formation, reduced reproductive performance and decreased milk yield.

Calcium Bypass Fat is a highly digestible energy supplement that can meet the above need. Bypass Fat is calcium salt of fatty acids ranging from 50 to 80%, based on customer requirements. It provides 100% inert to the rumen by promoting high metabolism, increase production of milk, meat quality, reduces digestive problems, improves the body condition, and decreasing weight loss. This results in increased fertility and conception.

WHAT IS RUMEN BYPASS FAT?

Fatty acids are not fermentable, so they are not a source of energy for rumen microbes; further, unsaturated fatty acids are toxic to the microbes, so as a defense mechanism, the ruminal microorganisms bio hydrogenate (saturate) these fatty acids to a less toxic form. Therefore, the supplementation of fat for dairy cows is achieved by means of Bypass Fat, which pass the rumen without any degradation.

Rumen protected fat is dry fats that are processed to be easily mixed into animal feeds. Because dry fat naturally has high melting points, they are mostly insoluble at rumen temperature. In essence, dry fat is not as much protected as completely insoluble in the rumen such that they have little impact on rumen fermentation.

HANDLING AND STORAGE OF BYPASS FAT

TYPICAL FEED RATES

Recommended amount usage of calcium bypass fat varies depending on the criterias such as yield level of animals, lactation period, structure of ration etc.
Based on average conditions, we can recommend the following doses:

medium efficient cows    MEDIUM EFFICIENT COWS
             ( 4,000 - 5,000 liters ) 300gr - 500gr / day

high yielding cows    HIGH YIELDGING COWS
              500gr - 1kg / day

sheep    SHEEP
50gr - 150gr / day during lactation process and bypass fat is used 100gr - 150gr / dat for seeding

goats    GOATS
             50gr - 150gr / day during lactation process

USAGE

Calcium bypass fat can be supplemented to dairy cows and other animals by mixing with concentrate mixture. It can be given in single dose or in divided doses.

ADVANTAGES OF USING BYPASS OIL

  • The body condition improves as weight loss falls.
  • The risk of developing metabolic problems such as ketosis and acidosis is reduced.
  • Facilitates digestion of coarse feed.
  • Increases the fat content.
  • Improves meat quality.
  • Keep animals in positive energy balance.
  • Protects from heat stress.
  • Important parameters such as digestibility, energy and fertility increase.
  • If there is no recovery of lost body weight for any reason, milk yield increases during the entire production period.
  • As a result of the improvement in body condition, high pregnancy rate is reached during the postpartum service period.
